Bertel O. Steen AS is a wholly owned subsidiary of Bertel O. Steen Holding AS. The company's main areas of business are automotive and property operations. At the close of 2016 the group had a turnover of NOK 14.4 billion and employed 2,306 full-time equivalents. The head office is located in the municipality of Lørenskog, Norway.
Bertel O. Steen Holding AS is owned by the companies Raget AS and AS Bemacs, which are wholly controlled by the Steen family. The holding company is organised into two business areas: one group for automotive and property operations (Bertel O. Steen AS) and one for other business (Bertel O. Steen Invest AS). Below is a presentation of the automotive and property operations.
Bertel O. Steen AS is engaged in the import of vehicles, dealerships, car financing, workshop operations and real estate. Bertel O. Steen Eiendom (real estate) manages the group's properties connected with the motor industry and other business sectors.
The company Snap Drive AS was sold from Bertel O. Steen Detalj AS to Bertel O. Steen Invest AS in December 2012 and then bought back in spring 2015. Bertel O. Steen AS's consolidated financial statements for 2014 do not therefore include profit figures for Snap Drive AS.
Car Import imports cars of the makes Mercedes-Benz, Kia, Peugeot, Citroën, DS, smart®, Fuso and Setra. Daihatsu has decided to pull out of Europe, but Bertel O. Steen will continue to ensure import of parts for existing customers.
Car Retail consists of a nationwide dealer network that distributes the group's car makes. Sales are effected through Bertel O. Steen Detalj AS and subsidiaries.
Car Financing consists of the company Bertel O. Steen Finans AS, which offers financing solutions through a nationwide network of dealers who sell cars imported by Bertel O. Steen AS.
Property consists of Bertel O. Steen Eiendom AS and its subsidiaries, which own and manage a substantial property portfolio of approx. 170,000 m2 connected with the motor industry and other business sectors. Roughly half of the portfolio is car-related properties.
